Be Incredible Bites:
Discomfort is the entry fee for success.
Struggle isn’t a sign to quit—it’s proof you’re on the right path.
If success were easy, everyone would have it.
No One Gets a Free Pass
Jeff Bezos wrote in 1997, “We are working to build something important—something that matters to our customers… such things aren’t meant to be easy.”
This isn’t just about business. It applies to any worthwhile goal—fitness, relationships, personal growth. Easy paths rarely lead to meaningful results.
Complaints Don’t Change Reality
The more someone complains, the less accurate their view of the world. Complaining about difficulty doesn’t change it. The world doesn’t adapt to your expectations. There will always be obstacles. The sooner you accept that the easier progress becomes.
The Real Reason People Quit
It’s not the hard work that stops people. It’s the belief that hard work shouldn’t be necessary. But difficulty doesn’t mean you’re failing—it means you’re on track. “If it wasn’t hard, it wouldn’t be happening.”
The Comfort Trap
The beta region paradox states that if the situation isn't terrible but isn’t great. If the discomfort is too big you have activation energy and will change it. If the situation is great, perfect you don't have to change anything. The problem is when you are stuck in the middle and spend years of your life in mediocrity instead of living an awesome life, which everyone deserves!
But growth lies beyond that comfort zone. There is also something like the “reverse region beta paradox”—where resilience keeps you stuck longer than you should be. Knowing when to push through discomfort and when to pivot is key.
Success Is Earned
There’s no shortcut. But once you accept that discomfort is part of the process, the struggle becomes easier to bear.
Success has a price. Pay it gladly.
